Homemade Mashed Potatoes

Picture1

Every year for Thanksgiving I make my homemade mashed potatoes. Well this year they came out extra great!Items Used:10 potatoes1 1/2 sticks of butter1 cup of milkSeasoning salt & black pepperHow I did it:I rinsed and peeled the potatoes and cut them in 1"x1" squares, I put them in a big pot of water and boiled them until they became super soft. Then I drained the water and mashed the squares, added the milk and butter and seasonings to taste. I then whipped out my handy dandy hand mixer and mixed until they became nice and fluffy. By the end of the night this huge bowl was completely empty, my spuds were a hit!Enjoy! … [Read more...]

Wisely Made Hair Products: Review

Picture+1501

I have been using these products only in my hair for the past few weeks so that I can provide an accurate review. When my products came in the mail the box they came in was very sturdy and well constructed, the company's name was labeled right on front and the box was wrapped with a beautiful decorative ribbon that matched the company's logo. When I opened the box each product was individually wrapped in a gorgeous tissue paper with the same matching ribbon I especially love the small details of the packaging. To me it shows pride and care in their products and I appreciate that :) On to the goodies, I received the following: From Left to Right: Hair Oil, Resurrection Hair Treatment, Hair Pomade, Shampoo, Conditioner ARV: $99 MaxiMoisture Hair Oil 8oz $18.00 Ingredients: Ingredients: Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Silybum Marianum Seed (Milk Thistle Seed) Oil, Olea europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Simmondsia chinensis … [Read more...]

Like so many women, I was tired of the pain, suffering, and high cost of using chemical relaxers on my hair. I was frustrated with not being able to get my hair wet and not being able to scratch my scalp when I felt like it. And one day, I decided that enough was enough. I wasn’t going to let unhealthy, unpleasant hair care preparations rule my life. The decision was easy. Making peace with the ‘natural’ state of my hair was a little more difficult. It felt dry and looked dull. I suddenly I realized that all the harsh chemicals I had been putting in my hair since the age of … [Read more...]
