Half Up Half Down: Christmas Hairstyle

Hey Guys! I have been on a little mini vacation from work  for the last six days, and it's been great! I've neglected the blog a little, sorry about that! But I am back sharing with you guys how Jordyn wore her hair for Christmas 2012. Her hair was already previously straightened so I opted for simple style   I started with a side part and grabbed small sections of hair around the hairline and rolled then up upward (not tightly) into a rolling twist and then I secured the two ends to back of her head with a small black rubber band and added a festive hair clip! I curled the ends with a curling iron, but you can achieve the same look with rollers. I was pressed for time so I had to use the curling iron, otherwise I would have used rollers. Flat Twist Updo on Natural Hair

Hey Guys! I am so late in sharing this style :( but better than never sharing right?! Right! :) So here is how Jordyn wore her hair for Thanksgiving day. I wanted something sort of fancy but something that didn't take too long to do, I came up with this number. I started by parting her hair horizontally from ear to ear and the back half I had four separate ponytails that connected upwards to the crown of her head. For the top half of the head I did a free style flat twist design and then I did a simple two strand twist for all the loose hair remaining, added a few sponge rollers to curl the ends and that's it!  After a few hours (probably around 3) I took the sponge rollers out and undid the two strand twists for a twist out :)   This style lasted us a week and I used our Blended Beauty products to achieve the look. So I saw someone use this technique over on lhcf and I wanted to try it out myself and see if it would work.I started on freshly washed and deep conditioned hair and I used Blended Beauty's Curl Styling Butter and sealed with Coconut Oil.First I put my hair in a high ponytail, then I grabbed small sections of hair and smooth it with my Conair brush.Then I just twisted the section of hair around my finger and held it for about 10 secondsThen I just let the hair fallAnd here are a couple of pics with my whole ponytail done and while my hair was still wet, it took about 15-20 min to do so not badHere is how my hair looked the next day completely dryAnd here is 2nd day hairI love the results, my curls were more defined and I had virtually no frizz :)Enjoy! … [Read more...]

Christmas Hair

I wanted to try something different for Christmas this year so I found this cute style done by MsDanti1 on youtube.I started this style on freshly washed and deep conditioned hair using Ouidad Shampoo and Aussie Moist 3 Min. Miracle Deep Conditioner.I had two rows of flat twists going from ear to ear in the front of my head going forward, all remaining flat twists on the sides and in the back were going downward (vertical). I used Blended Beauty's Curl Styling Butter (Review Coming Soon) and sealed with Coconut Oil. I also used two different sized perm rods on the ends to curl them, thinking that if I used bigger rods in the back I wouldn't have so much shrinkage and I could wear it all down.Well.............Not so much I looked like I had a Jheri curl (Granted it isn't fluffed to it's full potential but in any case I wasn't feeling it)So I pinned it all up and to the side and added a cute bow I purchased at Mocha Rose CreationsHere is the finished look:Enjoy! … [Read more...]

Curls on Flat Ironed Hair

So I did an unplanned flat iron on my hair the other day but I didn't want to wear it straight so I decided to use my handy dandy sponge rollers and curl my hair.I slept with the rollers in overnight and in the morning this is what my hair looked like in the morningand this is what my hair looked like at the end of the night (13 hours later)soooo all the curls pretty much fell lol but it's okay :)Enjoy! … [Read more...]
