This review was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own. I received a Wahl Hot/Cold Massager for the purpose of this review.   Mother's Day is next week and while the usual gifts we give or receive are always the same, it's either jewelry, dinner, flowers or something to that effect. Or at least that's how it is in my household :) But this year why not give the gift of something different, something unexpected, something beneficial to your mom: Wahl Home Products. We moms work hard everyday, taking care of our children, households and in many cases working outside of the home as well. Sometimes are our bodies get fed up with our hectic schedules and decide to let us know, unfortunately it's usually in a painful way. Last summer my back went out, I didn't do anything outside of the ordinary I just bent down to pick something up and BAM I was crippled in pain. I could barely walk and the pain was nonstop for a week straight. Ever since then I've … [Read more...]

DIY: Shea Butter Mix for Hair

SAM_3817

Hey Guys, So I ran out of my last batch Shea Butter Mix and I looked on youtube to find a new mix, just to switch things up and try something different. After watching a few videos I just decided to use what I had on hand. So I used the following: Raw Shea Butter (purchased locally from an African Store near my job) Tropical Tradition Coconut Oil Extra Virign Olive Oil Avocado Oil Vitamin E Castor Oil I used a large mixing bowl and mixed the following together: 5-6 tablespoons of raw shea butter 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil 1/2 teaspoon of EVOO, Castor oil, Avocado oil 8 capsules of Vitamin E oil (1/2 teaspoon) My Vitamin E is in capsules so I just poked a little hole in each capsule until I got enough for 1/2 teaspoon. The vitamin E will act as a preserver for the mix so it won't go bad so fast. I used my hand mixer and whipped everything up together until I got a nice and fluffy consistency. Then I transferred my mix into an old … [Read more...]

To help spread the word about Healthing LYSOL has teamed up with television personality Giuliana Rancic, to visit YMCA's in select markets across the country to demonstrate Healthing in action. At each location LYSOL will provide attendees with hands-on education  about the required steps to practice and products to use to improve hygiene habits in their own homes, all while making the idea fun for kids. LYSOL will also provide educational information and disinfecting products to the local … [Read more...]

A Shade Of Vampire: Book Review

0

Hey Guys, Fact about Tiffany: I am a reader, yep it's true I love to curl up with a good book like ALL the time. I've been into reading since I was kid, back then it used to be Goosebumps and Sweet Valley High books :) Now as an adult I enjoy all kinds of genres and books. Now you may have noticed that I've never once posted a book review on my site, why you might ask? Well because most books I read aren't really approperiate for a review on my family friendly site, not that I am reading bad stuff but they are more adult as in topics, language and so on.  Also I never wanted to get too much into reviewing books because it just opens the door for everyone to throw a book your way to review and I'm actually quite picky in what I read, I have to be interested to spend my time reading a book and then reviewing it on my site. So with that said I was recently contacted by an author, Bella Forest to review her debut book, A Shade Of Vampire. Page Count: 150 Release Date: … [Read more...]

How we Straighten Naturally Curly Hair

SAM_3766

Hey Guys, Today's post is going to be a step by step tutorial for how we straighten our naturally curly hair. I know there are different ways and methods and so we wanted to share ours! First step is to make sure your hair is thoroughly clean, next I applied a deep conditioner and then used my Hair Therapy Wrap (review coming soon) and let it sit for an hour.     After rinsing out the deep conditioner I sectioned her hair in four sections like so:   Then I applied a small amount of leave in conditioner to each section Next I banded her hair to air dry overnight. Since I am already using enough heat with the straightening process I like skip a step if I can and for us this method of drying allows us to skip blow drying and allows the hair to be nice and stretched. The next day I took one section down at a time and begin to straighten her hair. This is what her dry stretched hair looked like after taking out a banded … [Read more...]
