Flat Twisted Side Curls on Natural Hair

Hey Guys,

I’m back with a new hair style I came up with for Jordyn.

I started by washing her hair with Herbal Essence Naked Volume Shampoo then I conditioned with Aussie Moist conditioner.

Next I sectioned her hair in 4 sections and I added a quarter sized amount of Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream  and grapeseed oil to each section. I detangled with my wide tooth comb and then used my blow dry to dry her hair completely.

Next I added a tiny bit of gel for hold and began flat twisting all of her hair to one side of her head. I secured each flat twist with rubber bands.

For the loose hair left out I used my curling wand to add curls. That night I used flexi rods to preserve the curls for the next day and she slept with her satin scarf on. This style will last us an entire week by tying it up at night and using the flexi rods to keep the curls in.

There are many variations on this style, you can do it on wet hair, dry hair, stretched hair. You can leave the loose hair in twists, braids, twist outs, braids out, pinned up in an updo or skip heat altogether an use flexi rods, perm rods or rollers to acheive the curly look.

We hope you guys like it!

Enjoy!
